12/11 Professional Development Workshop: Provocations and Materials Exploration

$125.00

Exploring Materials, Provocations & Possibilities

Join us on December 11 from 10-12 in our studio for a hands-on professional development workshop inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to learning.

Together, we’ll slow down, look closely, and explore how thoughtfully chosen materials and environments can invite children to wonder, investigate, create, and express their ideas.

In this workshop, we’ll consider:

  • What is a provocation? How can we create invitations that spark curiosity and encourage children to follow their own questions?

  • The role of materials and how open-ended materials can become partners in children’s thinking and meaning-making.

  • The possibilities of materials as tools for exploration, communication, creativity, and expression.

  • The environment as a teacher and how intentional spaces can support curiosity, connection, and deeper engagement.

Through conversation, observation, and hands-on exploration, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with materials and reflect on how these ideas might take shape in your own classroom.

Come curious, ready to explore, and open to seeing familiar materials in new ways.

Date: December 11

Time: 10-12

Location: 111 John Street Suite 210

Cost: $125 per adult.
